Don't want to mention it again, as so many have before me but, Wow! 20 years...after looking at the website, it brings back so many memories...I've lost touch with everyone so the reunion will be nice catching up....
I recently married my best friend, took me so many years to find him...we have 4 children together, his son, Zack, who is 9...and my three, Cari, almost 18...Joshua, 14 and Bradley, 12...we both keep busy working full time and in our spare time we juggle the kids sports and Austin Peay basketball...we live in TN, an hour outside of Nashville...guess we'll catch up more in the near future...DeAnna~ (o;
Hello everyone! Wow…I can’t believe how old everyone is now. Yikes. I’m really glad I made the decision not to keep aging after I turned 20! Okay...so maybe I did age a bit after my whole Hyperbolic Cryogenic Kermit The Frog Time Chamber Thingy didn’t work out, but hey it’s okay. I’ve learned to cope. On a serious note I headed to the University of Oklahoma for a fun-filled Freshman year right after graduating from Moore. I think my major was keg drinking, but for some reason I can’t remember.J I then decided I was too smart for college so I quit and played “rock and roll” for a few years in bands like Two Doors Down and Cousin Jake. We played SxSW in Austin, opened up for the Flaming Lips, Dead Milkmen, etc., but I tired of being famous so I decided to go back to college. J I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1991, got married, traveled Europe, then started a career in the Information Technology field. I have 3 little boys that are everything in the world to me! (Yes, I coach soccer and I’m the Cub Scout Den Leader!). I then got my MBA from Oklahoma City University a few years ago, then decided I wanted to play “rock and roll” again. Only this time I kept my full-time career working at Republic Bank & Trust as the Director of Information Technology and decided music would be a “hobby”. Band website is www.valvedrifter.com if anyone is interested. We recorded our first CD last summer and it’s been a lot of fun. My personal email is jameswilsoniii@yahoo.com. I hope everyone is doing well! I do a lot of waterskiing in the summer so I might see some of you at Arbuckle, Murray, or Texoma!!! Later.
P.S. Yes, I know how the sand made it into the school courtyard on “beach day”! I also know who went commando in their togas they wore to school, who was really “Eugene Spazard”, and I just might know how the “Sirloin Stockade” cow attacked someone’s Camaro late one night. I know a lot of other stuff from back then, but figured I’d keep this PG-13. Especially since I’d just incriminate myself.
After I left school, I moved out and was gonna live on my own. Or atleast with a roommate, Scott Burcher. We both joined the Army, but I missed the plane. (not really) My plans were detoured because of a gunshot and a broken leg. So after I sat on my rear for one year, while I was healing, I finally got a job. A bunch of odd and end jobs. Did not do anything for my wallet. Been through 2 bad marriages. But I finally found someone to put up with me, "Lacy". We have been together for almost nine years now. We live out in Mustang with our 2 wonderful kids, my son Korbin (11) and her daughter Ciera (also 11). I have been in the excavation business since 1989. I have worked on projects such as: The Bricktown Ballpark, The Canal, The Ford Center, Will Rogers World Airport expansion and the new Bricktown Movie Theatre, (just to name a few).
Let's see after high school I went to Rose State College as a musical performance major and then joined the Air Force for four years. I traveled to Germany where I met my hunk of burn'in love husband Bryan. We traveled to Turkey, Switzerland, Austria, the island of Cyprus, and Lichtenstein during the two years we were there. I was chosen for Tops and Blues to sing but gave it up to marry my hubby (a good decision).
We eventually ended up in Omaha, Ne. for 6 years where we bought our first house and shar pei dog. We both opted to get out of the military. We were working for the same company when they moved us to Oklahoma. It was then after 8 years of marriage we decided to have children. We now have three: Titian Kahlil 8 yrs, Cosette Alizarin 5yrs, and Madchen Sage 18months. We live in Tuttle on an acreage with all any oklahoman parent would need... a storm shelter, trampoline, swimming pool, and swingset.
I received my assoc in business and my husband has a
bach of fine arts. I stay at home with my kiddos and my hubby is a graphic artist for the FAA. He also teaches art to children for the Metropolitan library system in the summers, and is an art instructor at the OKC Museum of Art (downtown).
I pursued singing for many years. I performed for the country music assoc in Las Vegas, at Johnnie Highs Country Music Review in Dallas Tx, and a regular at the Ok opry and McSwain theater in Ada. I also sing at the Arts Festival every year and it's a lot of fun. I recorded a CD at the opry and those of you who remember Eric Newendorp ? We wrote a couple of songs together and they are on the cd too.
Anyone famous? Recently went to the Keith Urban concert to talk with a girl I've known since she was 12. Katrina Elam opened for him and we sang together for years at McSwain and Ok Opry. She is truly sweet and super talented we need more people like her in the industry. I also got to talk with her tour manager and guitar player. His name is Jody Teeter and played for the McSwain band for years and she took him with her. It's just so cool. I guess that's why I'm not famous I wanted the money but not the lifestyle.
I love being a mom and wife more than anything in the world. My family is happy and NON dysfunctional and nowadays that's a big deal. My husband is the best man I've ever known. We are still like newlyweds even after 17 yrs of marriage. I am so grateful for having him. Well I'm done boring everyone and that's all I've got to say about that.
After H.S. I joined the Marines. I stayed for 8 glorious and drunken years with the vow to never get back in the military.
After I got out, I thought I would see the country so I got a Class A drivers license and drove 18 wheelers for 5 years (the original thought was do that for a year then go to college). I drove for a local company out of Tulsa. After driving so long it was hard to get a job outside of the trucking industry so I started recruiting drivers for the company I drove for (had to use the gift for gab). I got tired of telling half truths so I switched over to operations and dispatched (talk about half truths).
Pay raises where nonexistent at that time so I joined the Army reserves right before 9/11 for a little extra money.
I found out about a little known Army program called the Military Technician program. Which in a nut shell they hire Army Reservists to do civilian jobs. So I quit the trucking industry (best move I ever made) and became an Army Civilian. I started out as a Tool and Parts Attendant(WG06). I worked there for about 4 months then Big Daddy Bush decided to invade a little country called Iraq. My reserve Unit was activated in Jan 03. We landed in Kuwait in Mar 03 then moved into Iraq in May 03. Oh yeah my Unit was a transportation company that specialized in hauling fuel(back to trucking). We hauled fuel in 5000 gallon trailers from the Kuwait border up to Bahgdad International Airport until Nov 03. Only got shot at once!! After getting back to the US in Dec 03 I went back to work as a Tool and Parts Attendant.
While I was away my boss retired and there was a new boss. We got along great so I was promoted to work onthe floor and turn wrenches(that was a nice raise)as a Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic(WG08). One of my sisters lives in Washington and told me about a job opening with the Corps of Engineers working in one of the dams so I applied for it and what do you know they hired me. So, I moved up here in June 04. Since I was still in the Army Reserves, I joined a Unit up here that was in Iraq (the thinking was they where there, I was here no way I would have to go back there). I was settling in good here in Walla Walla, WA when I got a call from my Unit telling me that I had orders to go back to Iraq. Talk about shocked!! So, in Sept. 04 I was again flying to Iraq to join my new Unit. After some training in Kuwait I actually joined my Unit in Oct. 04 in Iraq. The weird part is my new Unit replaced my old Unit. So, back to hauling fuel from Southern Iraq to Northern Iraq. I only got shot at twice this time and watched two IEDs blow up. I just got back to the U.S. in Feb 05 and started working again in Mar.
I have recently moved back to Oklahoma after living away for nineteen years. It’s nice to be close to family and friends once again. I look forward to reconnecting with everyone.
Soon after high school, I got a job with American Airlines working as a flight attendant. The first year I was based out of New York. That was a great experience. It was fun, exciting, and very challenging. I shared a one bedroom apartment in lower Manhattan with six other girls. That was a challenge in itself. The living situation was a bit tight at times, but through it all I made some life-long friendships.
After about a year in New York, I transferred down to Miami, Florida. I flew domestic and international flights. I loved flying out of South Florida and being able to see all of the diverse cultures from South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. Every single day was a growth experience. One of my best flights ever was coming out of Mexico City one early morning about five years ago when I met my husband, Mauricio. We dated for nearly a year and then got married. Later on, we had two wonderful boys: Sebastian (who’s now two and a half) and Benjamin (who’s ten months old).
Like most parents, our priorities shifted once our children came into our lives. Mauricio and I decided to move to Oklahoma where we could give our children a better quality of life. We now live in Norman. Mauricio works in sales and I continue to fly with American about six days a month. We are really enjoying this time in our lives and we look forward to building new relationships and getting re-acquainted with old friends.
Wow, what has happened since I graduated! What can I say! After graduating from Moore High in 1985 I worked over the summer, broke up with Kenny Hix (which we are still friends and also with his family) and then went off to college. I decided to not go to OSU after all, so I went to Draughon’s Business College in Oklahoma City. I graduated in 1987 with a full AA degree in Accounting. My major was music and my minor was accounting. Go figure! I really love it – I still play music (clarinet & the piano) for fun.
I went to California to visit some relatives and take a break after school. While visiting I met my future husband Tod Withey. We got married in 1989, and then had one daughter named Delaney in 1992. We were married for 14 years before our divorce in 2003. A long time but we are very good friends! What can you say some marriages don’t work like that? We also both work at the same University.
Delaney is 12 and in JR High. She is a big part of both our lives and I love her very much! I am very involved with her activities. She is in band, girl scouts, 4H, Honor Roll at school and does community service on the side. I can’t wait to see her in the Marching Band like I was. She keeps both of us very busy.
I work for a University (Chapman University in Orange, California). My job is accounting – I audit accounts, look at a lot of reports, work on special projects, and travel around to all our satellites for training other staff. I love my job!
In my spare time if you call it that: I am leader to my daughters Girl Scout troop (7 years now), leader to her 4H club (1st year), help with school/band activities and all her community service projects that need to get done. She is on the Honor Roll at school. I am also still involved in her elementary school (even though she doesn’t attend there) as the president of the PTA (3 years now). Lot of work, but we both enjoy it. She helps out with her leadership when needed. We attend First Christian Church of Orange – where my daughter is in the Choir, acolytes and is in the Youth Group. I help with the choir and youth group. Her dad helps out a lot with her activities and her school projects also. When I have down time for myself: I do scrap booking, go bowling, and go to the car races, concerts, and the river with friends.
We go home every year for Christmas to see my parents. It is a great time and also rest time for me. My parents still live in Moore! 20 years is along time to see people. Hope everyone is doing well and what they set out to do! I am very excited to see my classmates from high school. See you there!
I joined the Marines shortly after graduation in August, 1985. I spent six years on active duty and saw four deployments, including a deployment to Desert Storm. I was an Infantry Rifleman for the entire six years where I learned many things including discipline and the value of an education. (I learned a few other things as well, but we don't need to mention them). In 1991, I left active duty for the Marine Corps Reserves and I took on several odd jobs at places like to finance a college education that eventually a law degree. You would all be surprised if you remember my horrible performance in high school. While going to school I met my lovely wife Lori and we have two great kids, Rachel (5), and Kate (2). I have been practicing law at a small firm in Norman since 1996. Although this last year I was a little side tracked by being sent to Iraq for seven months with a Rifle Company out of Corpus Christi, Texas. I returned from Iraq on April 3rd in one piece, and I was reminded how old we all are now by the flier reminding us of our 20th reunion. I look forward to returning to the peace and tranquility of home and family; I look forward to retiring from the Marine Corps next year; and, I look forward to seeing all of you this summer.
Owner of Golden Retrievers Peter Pan and Wendy (2 years),
Calico the cat (15 years), and Shelby the goldfish (5 years)
20 years?!?! How can that be? I am only 29 years old (and holding......forever!). I spent almost my entire life in Moore. I went to Northmoore Elementary, Highland East, Central....then on to Cache High School! My wonderful parents (in the years 1983-1985 they weren't so wonderful) moved me to Cache, OK to go to high school. My graduating class was 55 (only 10 of us finished college). I hated it there! Two days after graduation, I moved back to Moore. In the fall of 1985 I started school at OU, which is where I met my husband, Jim (also an only child). He had just finished his first year of law school. In 1989, we got married and moved a full 3 blocks away from my parents. It took me six years of working full time and going to school full time to get my degree. I think I attended every college and university within a 50 mile radius of OKC. I taught school in Moore and realized that I could not change the world. My parents then became very ill and I had to take care of them. In 1993, they both passed away. This was a very heartbreaking time for me, obviously. Being an only child, I couldn't understand why God didn't take me with them. I was devastated. One year after their passing, my husband decided that we would move to Ponca City....another small town! I said, "you and what wife??". But, because I didn't have any family to speak of, I decided I didn't have anything to lose. It took me about two weeks to fall in love with Ponca! My daughter, Laura Jo Devinney was born on tax day in 1994. While she was still an infant, I started my own business designing custom jewelry pieces. James Lewis Devinney was born in May of 1998. I am a stay at home mom but I travel quite a bit with my business, especially during the fall.
As for hobbies, I LOVE scuba diving. Jim and I were certified 10 years ago and we spend 1-2 weeks per year diving the Caribbean. I have seen some incredible things underwater. I have also experienced some incredible things top-side. I also love camping, fishing, hiking, and rock climbing. Unfortunately, my husband does not enjoy those things, so I am trying to teach my children to appreciate the outdoors. I take them fishing several times per week in the summer. My daughter and I love to go to the Wichita Mountains, near Lawton to hike. Sometimes we can be spotted at OKC Rocks or on a "real" rock face. I enjoy reading books and spending time with my family. I go to the gym everyday to work out. My most beloved fashion accessory is my iPod! My life would end without it! I don't watch TV or movies, but I am kind of a music freak. I love to travel! My travel goal is to dive every continent on Earth. Wow!! I had better get busy!
In the past several years, I have discovered siblings (yes, I was adopted)....my sister and I have enjoyed getting to know each other. We are very different, but we love and appreciate those differences. We become "gypsies" one weekend out of the month and go to Canton, Texas. We call our special weekend our "Gypsy Weekend". It's a blast. No husbands or kids...just us. Ask me about it sometime......maybe you would like to be a gypsy for a weekend with us!!
So, that's it. I would love to hear from ya'll. Please feel free to email me at devinny@cableone.net.
Married my senior year sweetie Don Lairson ~ Aug. 6, 1994 (Sr.84)
We have 3 girls ~ Kearsten 10yrs., Kendra 9yrs.
and Aleigha "Miss Priss" who turns 3 Aug. 8th
WOW! I can't believe that it has been 20 years already. Time has flown by.
I couldn't help but pull out my yearbooks to put faces to all the names. Of course, I had to go back to 7th grade. . .Highland West. Woohoo!!! Remember mythology with
Mrs. Briggs. Or when she taught yearbook in 8th grade and she danced for us on her desk.
Brenda and I are still best friends and had a lot of fun reminiscing about school days. The hair and fashion styles alone made us laugh.
I don't know if anyone will remember me, but I do remember a lot of you. In going through all my yearbooks and reading all the autographs from all the years; I noticed that they had changed somewhat in high school. I also know that I had changed during my high school years. Unfortunately, not for the best. I realized in looking back that I missed out on a lot of fun to be had by being involved more in school. It seemed that some of you were somewhat concerned about my "partying". Thank you for caring. And for those of you who ever might have said a little prayer for me at some time. Your prayers were answered and I am eternally grateful.
Okay. . .now let's talk about me. I, unlike most of you, did not make it to college. I have had several jobs, mainly office stuff or accounting. My dad passed away in '89. That was the hardest thing I've had to endure. Being a daddy's girl and all. Now, having 3 girls of my own, some days are really rough. With my Mom being legally blind and running a snack bar, I had to step in where my dad left off in doing most of her errands and getting her to and from work. Thank God that has gotten easier. For the first 12 years after high school I worked, lived with my senior year sweetie and just had lots of fun (or so I thought I was).
Then in November 1996, I had had enough. I fell to my knees and asked for God to put in my path the church that would be my home. January 19, 1997, my prayer was answered. . .my husband and I along with 2 of our girls, went to Victory Christian Center. That was the end and the beginning of our lives. We have never been the same since that day. From that day on our lives have been richly blessed. I finally found that which I had been searching for. The void and emptiness that I had felt was gone. I know in my heart that many of you had sewn seeds into my life. Maybe not orally, but on pages of my yearbooks. THANK YOU! ! ! !
Don is CO-owner of a mason company in Edmond. They do residential and are beginning to do more of the commercial work instead. Their work has taken them away as far as Virginia. He recently returned home from a missions trip to Guatemala, his first of many more to come. I have been a stay at home Mom, taxi driver and problem solver for my family and the one everyone calls when they need something, up until February that is. Now, there are some days they can't reach me. I began working at a Starbucks in Edmond to save myself from the masses and regain some of my sanity back. Everyone seems to be at a loss now that they do not have access to me at the drop of a hat. They will learn to live without me those few hours a week I get away. All in all, things are going great for me. Don and I have an awesome relationship and still love each other deeply. Our girls bring light into our home (free entertainment I say). They make us laugh quite often. They are our joy! (Well, most of the time anyway.) We all have fun together and all five of us like to give people a hard time. BEWARE! We like to laugh and just have fun.
I would love to hear from some of you. I have thought about many of you through the years and I am eager to see you all. Just to name a few. . .Vickie Chapman, Chuck Gorman, Deana Guthrie, Michelle McNutt and Leroy Myers. There are so many more of you that I would like to hear from, I haven't seen any mention of these and am curious how they are. I have kept in touch with Kelly Blythe as well over the years, and she would love to hear from some of you too. You can email me and I will get them to her, her computer is on the fritz.
To those who read the sign in book, I apologize. Hey, what can I say. God had other plans on what I should write. Take it up with Him.
See you all in July, or maybe even sooner. To all . . . . Take care and may God bless you till then!
Has is been 20 years? My how time has flown. It has been a trip going down memory lane. From the days at Houchin, to Highland West, Central, and then graduation. A lot of memories have come to surface. Nice to see familiar names on the web site.
So what is going on in my life? Am I where I thought I would be 20 years ago? NO. Am I happy now? YES!
After dabbling in several careers after school, banking & computers, I finally decided what I wanted to be when I grew up. God had to hit me upside the head before I figured it out, but I did. I am a registered nurse. Have been doing emergency nursing for about 12 years. Never imagined myself as a nurse when I was younger, but can’t imagine myself doing anything else now. Especially emergency nursing but I love it. Started doing some surgical nursing a few years ago.
I have 3 beautiful children. Melinda 16, Faith 5, Brandon 4. (Yeah what was I thinking starting all over again?) Faith was diagnosed with Type I diabetes when she was 3 and Brandon has Autism. They are the biggest blessing in my life. They give me the greatest joy. After a trying few years, my marriage of 16 years ended. But God has blessed me again & I am engaged to be married to the most wonderful man. We are getting married on 5-27-05 in Eureka Springs.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. Hope to renew some friendships & make new ones.
What have I been doing for the last twenty years? I went to Rose State College for one year following high school. It was a complete waste of time and money. I ended up having to repeat most of those classes later on. I went to work doing various things from loading trucks at UPS to a security guard to working at an oil refinery. Mostly I just messed around for several years, and had a really good time with a lot of great people. Then I found my gig, sales. I spent the next 10 years or so in sales, mostly retail at Circuit City. I was able to travel with them around the Midwest opening new stores as a trainer then as a sales manager.
It was around 1993 when I met my wife, Angie. She was attending OU finishing up her graduate degree. We became inseparable immediately and were married on May 19, 1995. She was certainly a gift from God. I absolutely married up, but don’t all men? After getting married, the hours and lifestyle of sales was getting very old. I left Circuit City and went to work for AT&T Wireless. It was another sales job, but he hours were much better. The money was awesome, but the job itself was awful. I stayed for 3 years before I went to work for Midland Mortgage Company in their call center. Within a year I had been promoted as far as I could go without a degree. I wanted to stay with that company; I loved it, but didn’t want a degree in finance.
After much discussion with my wife, I decided to go back to college. I went part time for a year and a half at OCCC, then decided to go full time. So after living in Norman for 5 years we moved to Angie’s hometown Byng, Ok. At the age of 31, I became a full time college student at East Central University in Ada. I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to do, but felt like it should be counseling or education. After a lot of prayer and gathering advice I decided to be a teacher. I know, for those who know me, your thinking a teacher?!! God help those kids. This is pretty funny because I hated school and my high school career was less than stellar. I finished with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I will finish my Masters degree this summer in Elementary Administration to be a principal. I will pursue a PhD, but not until my kids are older.
My wife and I have been married almost 10 years and we have 2 wonderful children. Nathan Kennedy (Nate) will be 4 years old in May. He loves baseball and music. My daughter Allison Jo (Allie) is 18 months old and devastatingly gorgeous (the daddy talking), and loves anything Nate does. A beautiful daughter is how God is going to pay me back for my raising. God has blessed our family immeasurably with our children, but unless God has other plans we are done in that area. My wife is a manager at Boeing Aerospace in Midwest City. She is the love of my life and without her I would be nowhere.
We just recently joined our church, Trinity Baptist Church, and love every minute of it. The church has several ministries available for people to serve. We are getting involved where we can. Although it took a long time, God has reached me and I have embraced Him fully. As a matter of fact, my dream is still to be a rock star, now I just want to be a drummer in a Christian rock band. In our free time we love to watch OU football (since 1985), camp, listen to lots of music, be with our family and friends and just generally hang out with each other. There is no place I would rather be than with my wife and kids. So wherever they are, that’s where I am.
Despite my many, many mistakes and downfalls God has blessed me with a better family and life than I deserve. I can say I am the happiest I have ever been.
I live in Edmond now. I have one beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed little princess named Grace. I stay home with her which is the best decision I ever made in my life. I have been married for 8 years to the love of my life, Glenn Mathis. I stumbled upon him while I was working at Southwestern Bell (Wireless dept) in sales. I was previously married for five years, pretty much right out of high school, no children there.
I have not been fortunate enough to stay in contact with anyone from high school. My best friends were Sharon Barney, LaDonna Tow, Mike Mcneal, and Stephanie Ward. I would love to hear from anyone!!
My family enjoys our houseboat which is docked at Keystone Lake and we also enjoy flying as Glenn is a pilot. Comes in handy for trips! We are pretty active, enjoy staying healthy and together!! I missed the 10 year and I am not sure if I will make it to the 20 or not. I hope so. Hope everyone is doing well and making the most out of what God has given us!
Where have the years gone? We can't be almost 40...can we? It's been fun reading about what some of you have been up to. Some of you may remember me as the quiet guy that went to all the concerts...well, that hasn't changed. I'm still very much into playing guitar, movies, and art. I attended Rose State College a few years after High School, and had my own weekly comic strip in the College paper for a couple of years or so. I had aspirations of being the next Walt Disney, but that didn't quite work out. I spent some time in Florence, Italy studying the artwork of the Masters, but I decided that my true passion was more along the lines of The Simpsons and Looney Tunes than Michaelangelo. I never made a career out of art, but I continue to explore and experiment with it as much as possible.
During the summer of 1985 I met my wife Sandy, and we've been together ever since. She was a Norman High graduate in 1987. She's an active duty Nurse in the Air Force, which she absolutely loves. She has been to Iraq twice already. I'm hoping she doesn't have to go back again before she retires. She was injured during a mortar attack last summer in Iraq, but she made it home safely.
I worked for Hitachi Computers in Norman for over 10 years, importing and exporting computers all over the world. It took me a decade to realize it was a dead end job, so I left a few years ago and became self-employed.
My wife and I live in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. We've been here for 5 years now. It's nice here, but we both miss Oklahoma. I don't know what's worse though, Oklahoma tornados or Florida hurricanes.
After 20 years of just being a couple, my family will soon be a trio. My wife is 9 months pregnant with our first child. I guess if Julia Roberts and Madonna can be first time Mom's in their mid 30's, so can my wife. It has been a very easy and healthy pregnancy. Our little boy could be born any day now...we're both so excited. We've named him Keaton Andrew Timmons. I named him Keaton after one of my favorite actors, silent film star Buster Keaton. He isn't even born yet, but he has already won our hearts. Looks like I'll be spending the next few years as a stay at home Dad.
Being a brand new Dad and living 1,000 miles away may keep us from attending the reunion, but we just might plan a trip home in July. Any other new Mom's & Dad's out there?
I haven't seen bio's from most of the guys I hung out with in High School...Tim Donnelly, Eric Shrier, David Hoff, Carl Scoles, Greg Haun...where are you guys?
That's all I can think of for now, I hope everyone is doing well. Take care...
I really thought about not doing this, but ,hey, why not. I have not kept in touch with anyone from high school regularly. I live in Weatherford, TX, which is just west of Fort Worth. I have been married to Michael since December of 1993 and we have (2) great boys, Christian age 9 and Brock age 4. We stay busy with baseball and football activities with Christian, as well as work. Brock is ready to do the same things as his brother, but he will have to wait until next year. I work for LaFleur Petroleum Services, which manufactures oil field equipment, and our products are used internationally. I wear many hats at my job; everything from implementing our new software system, purchasing steel, working with our customers and freight forwarders to ship our products overseas among many other things.
Even though I have not stayed in touch with people, I do wonder what they are doing now. Who knows, maybe we can reconnect at some point and time in our lives. Am I coming to the reunion? Who knows, only time will tell.
I know everyone has said this but, has it really been twenty years? I have enjoyed the pictures. I think everyone looks great. I did not attend the five or 10 year reunion, so I am really looking forward to seeing everyone.
I went to college right after high school. First, Rose State and then OSU. Big mistake! I lived with Cheri Akin in an apartment and we had a lot of fun!!!! But no degrees. Neither one of us graduated.
I moved home and went UCO ( I think it was Central State then??) for awhile and then went to work at Hertz. I worked there for nine years. I finally went back to UCO and got my degree in Early Childhood education. I have worked for OKC Public schools for the past 6 years teaching kindergarten. It’s almost like a real job except I get off work at 3:30 everyday, have my summers off, Fall Break, Christmas Break, Spring Break! Of course the pay is not so good, but I love teaching.
But the best thing that has happened in my life is my beautiful daughter, Jillian. She is truly a blessing and has changed my life. She is 18 months old and very busy. She is very so funny and has no absolutely no fears. I love being a mom.
I still keep in touch with Cheri (Akin) Calloway and Brenda (Eady) Jameson. Of course, I see my brother, Kent and his family all the time. Kent and his wife Marcy have three girls.
I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.
Lori Merideth 1967-2003 (as written by her son Chris)
I received your 20 year high school reunion postcard for my mother, Laura (Lori) Ann Merideth. My mother passed away December 28, 2003 from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. She was a very loving and dedicated friend and mother, and I am positive she would have been a great grandmother to my sisters child Faye. She got married after high school to a man named Scott Giles, and together they raised 3 children. My name is Christopher Scot Giles, I'm the oldest of us three at 21 years old and am currently enrolled at the University of Texas at San Antonio. My younger sisters Ashley Nicole Giles, 18, and Olivia Frances Giles, 14 are attending a local HS here in San Anotonio.
My mother and father moved to San Antonio, in 1992 for job purposes. She continued her education and received her degree in Radiology, she was also a certified nurse. Throughout the years she did extensive work in the medical field in ranging from psychiatry, radiology, and orthopedics.
She achieved many of her goals in life such as raising healthy children, having a successful career, and even getting the motorcycle of her dreams. I attached a few pictures of my mother and of my siblings and me. She wanted me to take her to this reunion a year ago, so I felt I owed it to her to let people know a little bit about her.
After High School I attended the University of Oklahoma on a Football Scholarship. I moved to Oregon about 8 years ago after meeting my wife Melissa who attended the University of Oklahoma on a Gymnastics scholarship. She is from Oregon and we have made our home here. I have three children Taylor 14, Payton 7 and Alexis 5. They are the three main focuses in our lives and we enjoy coaching and watching them grow up.
Career wise, I have worked in Sales for several years and then in the last year I started a Sports Fundamentals Training Company for youth. The company is called FAST Sports Training and it is growing at a tremendous rate. We are looking into building a sports complex here in Oregon City. This summer we have 2 Baseball Camps and 3 Basketball Camps. Needless to say we will be really busy. I can honestly say this is what I was meant to do from the beginning. I enjoy working with Kids and Sports have always my first Love. We follow the Sooners here in Oregon in fact we are the only ones for miles around that hangs an OU Flag in the front of our house. We plan to go an OU game this year and then of course the game next year against Oregon.
I married Doug Bray Feb.12, 1987. We had our son Bradley Feb.23, 1988. He will Graduates MHS next year. I became a Barber in 1990. We lived in Moore until the May 3rd 1999 tornado moved us. We moved outside Moore on 104th we now live on 40 acres.
A little over two years ago we became legal Guardians of my Niece and two nephews Trai-8, Haley-6 & Jayden-3. I don’t know if they needed us or we needed them more. We are hoping to be able to adopt them soon.
My husband just retired USAF this past Feb. But he still works at Tinker. I run kids back and forth and work on my house when I can. I like working on my scrap books & when I can get time for myself sneak out and go fishing in my pond. It seems I’m always on the computer doing something. I don’t know how we ever lived with out them. Oh yes we also raise llamas. DON’T ASK, but if you have kids that would like to see them just let me know.
After high school graduation, I attended the University of Oklahoma where I recieved my bachelors of Arts and Sciences in 1990. I have been a dance teacher and choreographer ever since high school. My most recent professional accomplishments include being a ballet coach for several Jenks High School pom girls, participating my students in dance competitions, and choreographing and staging parts of the Nutcracker for the South Tulsa Children's Ballet. I am currently devoting all of my time to my family.
I have been married for 16 years to my husband Doyle. We met when he was playing the drums for the church I visited ( and later joined). He was so cute and talented that we immediately started dating and married 2 years later. We have three children: Ariel 14, Jacob 12 and Joshua 9. We moved to Tulsa in 1995. We have been active members of Church on the Move for about 7 or 8 years, where we feel that we really grown in our walk with Jesus. We are now moving in a few weeks to Little Elm Texas ( near Plano/Dallas suburb). We hope we can find a church as good as the one we are leaving! Most of my family still live in Oklahoma City so I visit there often.
Wow, I can’t believe that it has been 20 years already it seems like yesterday. Now about my life. Well after we graduated I went to OU for a year, then transferred to OCCC after receiving my Associates in Accounting in 1987 I went to UCO in Edmond. I graduated in 1994 with my bachelors in Decision Sciences (Business with an emphasis in Quality). I got married in 1989 to Jeff Woolsey (MHS 1986) we have a beautiful daughter Victoria (10), we divorced in 1997. I remarried in 1999 and am currently going through divorce #2, not fun. God is taking care of me in ways I never imagined.
I work at Oklahoma County in Management Information Systems (Computers); I have been here 8 years now. I really enjoy it. I have done Quality for in-house programs (the tax system that sends you your tax bills if you live in Oklahoma County) and am currently the EJS Administrator. In this wonderful job I take care of the application for the Oklahoma County Jail (no I can not fix parking or traffic tickets).
I am a certified scuba diver and just love it. The reunion is going to be fun and I can’t wait. God Bless
What have I been doing for the last 20 years? Well I spent 13 of them staying in school. I went to college and then medical school at OU. I was on the OU fencing team and qualified for the national championships two years in a row. I was also in a rock band with some guys from my dorm. No, we weren t any good, but after a few beers who cares? But the most important thing to happen to me in college was meeting my beautiful wife Kristi. We have been married 15 years now. After med school we moved to Birmingham, Alabama for my residency in ophthalmology, and then to Toronto, Canada for additional training in retina surgery. About 7 years ago I got a job with a group practice in Midland, TX. Then last year I set up my own practice after my partner literally went crazy. He was in a psych hospital and everything. Unbelievable!
I have been in the Army Reserve for 14 years, mostly as a flight surgeon. So far I haven t been sent anywhere dangerous. Along with several partners I started a surgery center in Midland, which we sold to a major chain last year. Kristi and I recently started a company which is looking at acquiring commercial properties in Oklahoma.
I love to fly and I finally got my private pilot license 4 years ago. I ve got a Piper Commanche, a single engine six-seater, that is one of the most fun planes to fly. I do a little hunting and play a little basketball, but most of my free time is spent just playing with my two kids. Cailin is 5 and Jake is 2. They have reminded me how much fun it can be to just slide down a slide or play tag in the yard.
I'm really looking forward to catching up with people at the reunion. See you there!
Since graduation I married my high school LOVE Deana Jones (MHS class of 86). We have been married since 1986. I have been blessed with two daughters, 17 & 8 who are the love of my life. I do not have a Ph.D. or any other college degree but I have the satisfaction of being a GOOD person, providing for my family and being the best person I can be. We have resided in Amarillo, Texas since 1986 and love the small (not too small) community.
I have worked in the construction industry for the last 16 year and I am now retired due to physical health problems. I now do custom rustic woodworking and enjoy the outdoors. We bought land on the South side of town and enjoy campfires, softball, cookouts, and good friends. (The joy of having your own land!!) Deana has focused her career in health care and now has been with Division for Rehabilitation Services for the State of Texas for the last six years. We are still Oklahoma fans. Deana is a Sooner fan and I am a Cowboy fan!!
Our oldest daughter, was, nominated Miss Amarillo South and participated in the Junior Miss Texas pageant in2004. She will be a senior in High School this year. She is what makes me get up everyday and thank my lucky stars for what I have.
The youngest (miracle child) is a thriving 8 year old!! Watch out for this one!! Model, musician, baseball player, wrestler, who knows??? She is what makes me get up everyday and thank my lucky stars that she is the last child (not really)
It is not what you have done, it is how you react to what you have done!
First I'd like to appologise to Tami Ward Spaulding for procrastinating this so long. I was trying to do the bio at April's (Broadbent) with a photo but if I wait much longer for our schedules to gel it may be our 25th reunion.....
So, If asked in '85 if I would be going to a twenty year reunion I'd have insisted I'd be to far from Oklahoma to attend. Certainly I would be on safari in Africa, or treking through a rain forrest...I wanted above all things NOT to lead a traditional life. So what happened? I spend the first decade out of high school making choices I am lucky to have lived through. Had some wonderful experiences and some very scary ones.
After all that, where did I end up... living in the neighborhood I was raised in. I am an active Girl Scout leader, a PTA parent, a member of Oakcrest Church of Christ in OKC, and a student at UCO. I have a WONDERFUL daughter (from a forgettable relationship) and I am finally comfortable in my own skin. All in all I think 38 is better than 18. I look forward to seeing you all at the reunion. Especially Javonna, Hee Sun, Christina, all the boys I had crushes on and anyone in Mandy Demings science class with me.
Twenty years, wow, can it be? It is incredible how we can direct our own lives and make mistakes and yet God always knows best. The last ten years have be incredible. I would never have guessed that after a failed 1st marriage and no college degree that God would bless me so very much. I have lived in Edmond now for 9 years with my husband and two beautiful children. Actually, the weekend after our 10th reunion I married Brad (10 years on July 15th). I worked for years as an administrative assistant mainly in the aircraft industry (corporate jets) and really liked the PR part of it. I met people from all over the world who would bring their jets to AAR Oklahoma to have them worked on. Eventually, I left to work with a smaller jet firm but was unhappy there. Ultimately I went back to work for my parents who own a local trucking company and still help them out once a week. Once my daughter Laura (8) came along I took her to work with me for a few months until finally deciding to stay home with her. I couldn't be more blessed and happy with my decision. I really feel that God was preparing me for the job of my life. The week of Christmas 1998, after a routine ultrasound on my unborn son, we discovered that he would be born with a fatal heart defect (Hypo-plastic Left Heart Syndrome - no left ventricle) and would have many years of surgery, if he even made it. In March of 1999 my son Grant (6) came into this world barking out orders and with something to prove - and he has. He had his first open-heart surgery at five days old and after many complications and illnesses came home when he was 22 days old. Although previously planned a bit later, his second surgery happened at 5 1/2 months as emergency surgery, yet he was home in 4 days. Finally, after years of catching everything that my daughter carried home (but didn't catch herself)and being at times frail, he had his 3rd and final surgery at 3 years old and was again home in 4 days (a record even for his phenomenal surgeon). What a trooper! Needless to say he is a real pistol and my husband and I have never known anyone, young or old, with so much energy and zest for life. He's now strong and determined, runs circles around the three of us and never wants to sleep. My daughter has prayed for and loved him since she was 22 months old and they truly are dear friends. We are all blessed to have her. Currently I am on the PTO overseeing the art program at my kids' school and speak at meetings and conferences on behalf of the American Heart Association about congenital heart defects and womens' health issues. I am working on a book about the experiences, lessons, joys, and heartaches that this miricle has allowed me to have. From Sr. FCA President, softball, basketball, cross-country and track to stay-at-home mom and author. Hopefully, I am a much stronger, wiser, and dedicated person than I was 20 years ago. And I cannot wait to see all of you!
I met my husband on the first day of college in August 1985. We were married in 1988. I graduated from OU in 1990 with a BS in Industrial Engineering and we moved to Houston. I quickly decided I did not like my job or my career options. I went back to school in January 1991 and graduated from the University of Houston in December 1993 with a Master in Chemical Engineering. While in school, our first two children were born: Scott (1992) and Emily (1993). I started working for a French chemical company as a process engineer and have moved up through the ranks into management. Elizabeth (1998) and Erin (2000) were born after I transferred from our Houston plant to our Baytown plant (outside of Houston). In 2001, I was promoted to Operations Manager and transferred to our Hammond, Indiana plant outside of Chicago. This past winter, I moved over to be the Maintenance Manager. I'm loving it!
Wayne and I have been married now for 17 years. I was fairly involved in our church in Houston serving as VBS director among other things. I gave my first sermon at our church there. Last summer I gave two of the sermons for our church here. I will be doing another on July 3. I also teach Adult SS which is something I greatly enjoy! My hobbies are my kids and flower gardening (boy doesn't that make me sound old!). Our house is THE hangout. I usually have seven or more kids in my house at any given time. They now just walk in and go search for whichever one of my kids they are looking for. It's kind of funny the way they just started doing that. I always wanted my kids and their friends to be comfortable in our home so I am glad it has worked out this way. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Spaulding, Tami's in-law's, for setting such a wonderful example! Most homes in the Chicago area have basements and I like sending the kids down there a whole lot more than I liked sending them upstairs in Houston. It's a lot quieter!!
We had already scheduled a family vacation when I learned about our reunion. I am very disappointed I will not be able to attend. I would love to visit with you all! We will be there the weekend of July 23 for my husband's reunion and we usually go to Oklahoma for Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas, and at least once during the summer. Send me an email if you would like to get together: fran.jurgerson@us.rhodia.com. And to Kevin Mark Freswick, I can't believe what you wrote! We have a plant in Martinez, California close to SF. If I get that way, I'll look you up for that first round. I'll get the second!
Well I can’t believe that in May, I had been out of high school for 20 years. Boy does time fly!
I have read so many bio’s over the last months and I am very amazed the success that some people managed to achieve in their lives. So where do I begin?
I stayed in Oklahoma until 1997 where I earned 2 associates degrees (from Oklahoma City Community College) one in Legal Science and the other in Occupati
